Eyes for crocheted amigurumi?

April 282009

Posted in amigurumi | 3 Comments »

You know those shiny black eyes they put on the crocheted animals all the time? Well I was wondering if any of you crocheters out there would mind to give me the website you order them off of.. I'm looking for several different sizes but I need the ones that you put the backs on, not the ones you glue in. Thanks for your help!

I have found the safety eyes at JoAnns. I have also purchased from ebay.

What is Amigurumi ?

What is Amigurumi all about & where can I learn about it ?

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small animals or toys. The dolls are done in single crochet in the round. The rounds are never joined, instead being worked in a spiral. Amigurumi are made up of parts that are crocheted, stuffed, and sewn together. The parts are usually an over-sized round head, a cylindrical body, arms and legs, ears, tail (if needed) and embellishments. Sometimes, felt is used to create the ears, face, or nose. Felt can also make some pretty cute embellishments.

I get how to start off crocheting amigurumi now, but when I'm working it always end up stacking up and looking like a bunch of quarters stacked up
I now know how to start when crocheting amigurumi, but whenever I start working in a spiral, it ends up looking like a bunch of quarters stacked up on top of each other. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and that's all I can explain.

sorry, we need more info to help.
edit: I found this video on youtube, so hope it helps. The pattern is made with no rows, just a continuous circle.
