I know a few good ways! You can embroider it on with floss, pretty ribbon, or yarn in your choice of colour. You could cut it out of felt and sew it on, or glue it on with ‘Speed Sew.’ You can sew on buttons, beads or other objects, and you can even use powdered paint to colour your fibre for various quality results, depending on the gauge of your yarn. Many possibilities! :D

I’m so happy to have helped! Keep at it! The key to following patterns is to find a really good explanation of the abbreviations and search YouTube for demos of the stitches you need. I’ve learned so much more about crochet since joining YouTube!

That’s great to hear! Practice makes perfect, as you know. I’ve begun to share original patterns at my deviantART site and plan to make some videos soon, however it’s hard to fit a whole animal into one video; I’m still limited to 5 minute vids until my viewership increases enough to pass the application process for ‘partner’. So please tell your crafty friends and help increase my views-count. ;-) Thanks for your comment!

YouTube doesn’t want me to post links here, so I’ll say this: if you just google “Bittersweet birds of a feather” you will find the pattern for the bird on which I based this demo (first result on the list). That is the pattern that taught me amigurumi and I base all my designs on the principals I learned making this bird. Thanks for your kind comment and happy hooking!

That’s great to hear! Now that you know the basics, you can design more toys for your baby by changing the number of rounds and increasing/decreasing to make different shapes, like arms and legs! Sew them together and you’ve got countless possibilities! Thanks for the comment!
