How do you crochet a whip stitch and an overcast stitch?

I’m making an amigurumi animal and it says i have to use a whip stitch and an overcast stitch to put the pieces together, but i have no idea how to do that. So any help is welcome. If you can find a site with a picture that’d be great too. The book that i got my amigurumi pattern from is "Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts Amigurumi"
